The United States condemns the July 7 terrorist attack on the Ministries of Interior and Internal Security in Mogadishu and sends condolences to the families and friends of those killed and wounded.
The Saturday’s attacks were killed almost 20 people, including two Government crews, and injured up to 30,a according to medics sources.
“We commend the response of the Somali security forces that quickly ended the attack and restored order,” read on a released statement.
Somalia-based jihadist group al-Shabaab takes the responsibility of the attack, confirming to launched five fighters, which security forces shot dead in crossfires.
“Al-Shabaab’s attacks on Somali civilians striving to improve governance and security for all Somalis are immoral and unacceptable.
“The United States remains a committed partner with the Federal Government of Somalia and its allies in the fight against terrorism.
